Cornerstone - Home of the Crusaders
  Scripture of the Week:
Psalm 100:1&2 NLT  -  " Shout with joy to the Lord, O earth!  Worship the Lord with gladness.  Come before him, singing with joy."

Joy is serious business.  Joy, according to the dictionary is described as "an intense and especially ecstatic or exultant happiness".  This does not sound merely like one of those "warm and fuzzy" kinds of feelings that come and go, does it?

In the Bible we learn that joy is one of the fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22); a gift of grace that can help us overcome all kinds of adversity.  When you're filled with the joy of the Lord, you feel strong, capable, and ready for anything.

Add the way the joy of the Lord makes you feel (strong, prepared and capable) to the definition of the word "joy" and you end up with a joy-filled believer that is hard for the devil to handle!

Take pleasure in serving God in everything you do, with joy and gladness.  He deserves for us to worship and serve Him with an intense, especially ecstatic, exultant, strong, fully equipped, Holy Spirit-filled Joy!

6th Annual
Staff vs Students Basketball Results:
Students: 68           Staff: 65

It was nice while it lasted ...but  our students (past and present) put an end to the winning streak that staff & parents have held for the first 5 years of our annual Staff/Parents vs Students/Alumni Basketball Event.   Coach Jennings pulled out no stops coaching the staff and parents but dispite his efforts, Coaches Jennifer and Ahmad coaxed enouogh talent out of the students and alumni to finish with the win.  Reliable sources claim there to be questionable tactics, but regardless all had a wonderful evening.  Watch out next year, students...we hear the adults are starting to practice already!

Cornerstone Band Revue!

The CCS Band performed a medley of songs at annual Christmas Program in December.  We look forward to "hearing" from them again soon! The band program is open to Cornerstone's  4th - 8th grade students through Band for Today.
